One of the ways I had hoped and prayed about reaching out in the name of Jesus this summer was to hit the street in the local community near my work. There's a large Hindu population in the surrounding vicinity with a Hindu temple right here in Bothell. So I stopped by at lunchtime today. I offered a hand of outreach and mentioned how Jesus told us to be servants of all, so if there was any way I could serve them I would. I spoke with a gal who said come by this evening to speak with their board members.
Update: went back in the evening. Spoke to one of their priests. Extended the hand of Christian service in love and explained some examples of what that would mean tangibly. He said you can give your name and number. I said I already did. He explained they were in the middle of prayers and rituals in worship to Krishna. He said I could go in and observe, but I was uncomfortable doing so. I gave him a Gospel of John and left. I also gave a girl a Gospel tract as I was leaving.
God bless...
