Ministered to by Alex

The Cirque de Music concert was held at the Xfinity Arena in Everett tonight.   Attendance seemed very full this evening.

Brothers Ronnie, Michael, and Johnny had preaching duties tonight.   Adjectives such as strong, bold, even harsh could be used about their style, but I know their heart's desire is for people to be saved and come to know Jesus as LORD and Savior.

There were a couple of Russian brothers; Vladimir and Alex who were also carrying signs and handing out Gospel tracts.   I had a long conversation with Alex as we handed out tracts together.  I was blessed and ministered to by brother Alex as he spoke to me, in his broken English with a strong Russian accent.   He spoke of his faith in action.  How he desired to not only know things from God, but to draw nearer to God each day in prayer and in Bible reading.   Brother Alex so encouraged me, and truly inspired me to draw nearer to God in deeper prayer and Bible reading myself.

Bro Alex exemplified simple faith as he described how God had healed him today.   He explained he was too sick to go to Church this morning, but his friend prayed for him and he experienced and immediate healing from God.

Snohomish Christmas Cruise

The LORD was glorified this evening by the distribution of 275 Christmas Gospel tracts and 120 candy canes at the Snohomish Christmas Cruise.

The LORD was very gracious to reach out to people through me, and he kept me warm and comfortable in a very cold environ.

Utsav Garba

There was an East Indian concert at the Xfinity arena this evening.   I wasn't sure if it would be well attended event, but I was very pleased to be able to reach many, many colorfully garbed people.

I had a long conversation with Kokil, and was able to share the Gospel message with him, although he was a fairly hardened, "we're all good people", and "all religions teach good things", ardent COEXIST type person.

My usher friend, John N. came out and encouraged me several times.

By God's grace I handed out over one hundred and fifty Gospel tracts, and was able to speak briefly with several people. I spoke the truth in love. Since I was speaking in the open air, I had to "cry aloud, I didn't hold back, I lifted my voice like a trumpet, and I showed the people their sins, transgressions and iniquities."

Interestingly, across the street from the arena is a new age mystic shop, where some sort of filming was going on.  I could see the film crew was wearing clothing (tee shirts, etc.) with clearly satanic emblems on them.  They were assembling props that looked like pieces of a haunted house.  I guess they could hear what I was saying, praise God. As the evening was drawing to a close, a guy and a gal from the film crew came across the street to confront me.   I had a good conversation with them, although when I confronted the gal with pro-life arguments against abortion, she left in a huff.   The guy was seemingly some kind of a wizard or warlock and he was giving me advice on how I should present the Gospel.   That was kind of ironic.

Here's some of what I said...

John 1
1 In the beginning
[i need to reflect back on Genesis 1 where it says, In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.]
was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

#1 There is only one true and living God who's revealed and expressed himself in this Word.   This Word is literally embodied in the person of Jesus Christ.   There are NOT many gods! There’s only one.   There are NOT many ways to God! only one, that is through the only mediator there is or ever could be; between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.   There have not been many different manifestations of God or gods down through the ages.   Only through His Word and the Person of Jesus the Christ has the true and living God revealed (or shown) himself.   All the gods of other religions are but idols.  The gods of Hinduism for example:
    - Brahma - creator
    - Vishnu - preserver
    - Shiva - destroyer
    - Ganapati - remover of obstacles
    - Saraswati - goddess of learning
    - Lakshmi - goddess of good fortune

These so-called gods are mere idols.   The creations of men.   From the minds and imaginations of men.   What about truly spiritual encounters you may have experienced with these so-called gods.   Don’t be deceived.   There is an enemy who would seek to deceive you.   To lead you astray from the true and living God.   The Bible calls him the prince of the power of the air and the ‘god’ of this world (little ‘g’).   That is satan, the devil; who was an angel of God, but fell; he sinned; he was lifted up with pride and fell, and took with him one third of the angels of heaven. The bible says he's able to transform himself into an angel of light. Don't fall for it.  First Corinthians 8:4-6 says we know that “an idol has no real existence,” and that “there is no God but one.” 5For although there may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth—as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”— 6yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.

#2 But Jesus the Christ has been from all eternity.   He is without beginning or end.   Again, there is one and only one true and living God.   The Bible, God's Word knows of only one true God and he is triune in nature and being.  He is one God in three persons and God the Son, Jesus Christ is himself God eternally.  All other so-called gods are false, inanimate, lifeless.

#3 This Jesus; the Son of God who is over all, God blessed forever.   He is the creator.  He made all things, and without him was nothing made that has been made.

#4 Life; true life; eternal life can only be found in Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. You can receive not only the gift of eternal life, but new life for the here and now.

#5 Jesus said I am the light of the world, and whoever believes in me will not walk in darkness, but will abide in the light of life. You can have illumination on your life. Light will expose the wrong motives, the misdeeds, the false statements. Christ can wash that away and cleanse your conscience.

Let's have a look at the truth about each of our lives; would you consider yourself to be a good person?  I'm going to ask you a few questions based on the Ten Commandments. Think of the Ten Commandments like a mirror ; a mirror will show you where there is filth and dirt, but a mirror does nothing to make you clean. I'll ask you a few questions based on the Ten Commandments. You don’t have to answer to me but answer to yourself and listen to your conscience.

God bless...

Questions/Objections to Christianity and the Bible

Questions/Objections to Christianity and the Bible

Proverbs 26 ESV

1 Like snow in summer or rain in harvest,
so honor is not fitting for a fool.
2 Like a sparrow in its flitting, like a swallow in its flying,
a curse that is causeless does not alight.
3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey,
and a rod for the back of fools.
4 Answer not a fool according to his folly,
lest you be like him yourself.
5 Answer a fool according to his folly,
lest he be wise in his own eyes.

Mark 12:30 ESV
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

1 Peter 3:15 ESV
but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,

  1. Silly (foolish) Stuff
    1. Where did Cain get his wife?
    2. How could Noah fit all the animals on the ark?
    3. Who created God?
    4. The Bible was written by (men, bronze age goat herders)
    5. “Your god is a myth, your book is a myth”
    6. Your book is just a knock-off/plagiarism of prior religions (Mithraism, etc.)
    7. I only believe in what I can see, touch, feel, etc.
    8. Everyone goes to heaven.
  2. Science
    1. Evolution disproves the Bible
    2. “I believe in science” (i.e. not the Bible)
    3. Do you believe in a 6 thousand year history of earth?
  3. Morality
    1. The church is full of hypocritical , pompous , money grabbing, pedophiles
    2. Suffering and evil in this world disproves God:
      1. If God is good
          And God is all knowing
          And God is all powerful
Then He could have prevented evil and suffering
    3. The Bible promotes slavery, racism, violence, polygamy, war.
    4. The Bible prescribes the death penalty for pre-marital sex?
Deuteronomy 22:20 (KJV)  But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: 22:21 Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.
  4. Experience/knowledge/Philosophy
    1. How do you know God exists?
    2. How do you know you haven’t been lied to, and you’re actually worshipping the devil?
    3. How do you know the Bible is true?
    4. There is no absolute truth
    5. I lost my faith because this bad thing X, Y or Z that happened.
    6. You Christians and your god hate people just because of who they love.

History and Time

I'd like to share some interesting concepts were covered in a Church history class, to which I've been listening.

1. Our concept of history is that history has a beginning and an end, with purpose in-between. There are good reasons we take history in school; not the least of which is that we might learn from both the mistakes and the successes of our predecessors. Not only is the study of history important, but the understanding that history itself proceeds forward and is under God's control. Sometimes life can seem out of control, but we serve the God who reigns in the affairs of men.

2. We conceptualize time as past, present and future. That comes from a Biblical worldview. The pagan concept of time in ancient mythology was that time was cyclical. Similar to the Hindu concept of reincarnation, time itself was thought to be cyclic, in other words, time started and then looped back and started over. Remember 8-track tapes (if you're old enough)

Crouching Gospel to Austin

This evening, I took the dog for a walk.   As we were walking back home, off of the greenbelt trail, I noticed a jeep Comanche parked near the trail head.   I wished I had brought some Gospel tracts with me, so I decided to walk up to my car, and grab some tracts.   I did so, and as I walked back down to the trail head, tracts-in-hand, the driver of the car saw me coming toward them, and he started the car and left.   Boy did they leave a heavy odor of marijuana behind them.

So we just continued onto the trail, intending to just walk around the block.   We came out the other end of the trail head, and continued around the block, toward the house, and I noticed another car parked facing wrong-way on the small residential street, so I decided to try to approach them, and give them Gospel tracts.   As I walked up, they rolled up their windows, but I walked up to the driver's side door and offered a Million dollar bill Gospel tract to the young man, and he opened his door and took one, and said, "Can I have two?"   The guy in the back seat said, "hey, I want one too", so I gave him one.  I crouched down and began to share with them.

I asked them if they new what the Gospel was and the driver said, "well, are you familiar with Gold Creek Church?", I said, yes.   He responded, I go to church there.  I said, "What does that do for you?"  We had a nice discussion and I was able to share the Gospel with the young men.   I explained how to receive eternal life (how to go to heaven when you die).   The driver's name was Austin, and I urged him to read his Bible and obey it.

Stomp The Patriarchy Ball

I had several great conversations with people headed into the "All Access" concert at Washington Hall in Seattle.   The concert was part of a nation-wide pro-abortion series of events held yesterday evening.

The people of Seattle are such a colorful bunch of folks.   I did have the privilege of speaking to several dozen of them as they lined up outside the building before the doors opened.   I was glad to learn that this venue would only accommodate up to about 300 attendees.

I handed out three dozen Gospels of John from the Pocket Testament League.   It was interesting to see people recoil when I went to hand them one of these...

One gal told me proudly, "I've had 3 abortions".   I was so sad, but I told her she could be forgiven and see her children in heaven if she would repent and trust Jesus Christ as her Savior.

I had a long conversation with Greg the bouncer.

I only got flipped off twice, Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

I also was strongly scorned by a guy who told me he was going to slap me, and I was in the same camp as abortion clinic bombers.

I also handed out these...

The Glorious Gospel To Bellevue

Pray for Theo, the GOCC Black Hebrew Israelite who we got to witness to last night.
Pray for Mr. Bus Driver who made up his own Sci Fi religion.
Pray for all the people who received Gospel tracts.
Pray for Matthew who told me, from out of his car window, to leave because no one was listening to me.

You Can't Do That

Weekend before last, brother Joel and I went to the Lake Stevens Aqua Fest.   He had some cool "Good News / Word of Truth" tee shirts made for us.

We handed out gospel tracts, and got into one-to-one conversations with several groups of people. I was sooo encouraged that God gave us the appointments with young people to share the Gospel and talk about eternal matters.

Please pray the seed of the Word to germinate in the heart of Phoenix and Mason, Alex, Jack, Chandrice, and others.

At about noon, when both Joel and I were starting to feel sunburned, we decided it was time to leave. As we were on our way out of the festival, we were told by a policeman, that he had received complaints about us, and that we couldn't do what we were doing. Joel explained that not only was he a resident of Lake Stevens, and he was a tax-paying citizen, but we couldn't be prohibited from handing out Gospel tracts because that would be unconstitutional. The police officer said, "okay by me, just go make sure it's okay with the festival officials". We went and talked to a couple of people at the info booth, and showed them our tracts. They said let us call the "president".

We waited around for a while and decided to just leave my cell phone # and leave.

Later I got a text that read, "sorry Keith, but you can't hand out tracts, unless you purchase a booth."

"I Believe in Science"

You probably heard Hillary Clinton say, "I believe in science", during her acceptance speech. Make no mistake, that was a jab in the eye of Christians.

I’ve had people say that to me too.   By saying that, I understand them to say, "I don't believe in God, because science disproves God".

Well, I believe in science too, but I have a justification for believing in science. I believe the scientific method is a valid way to gain knowledge. And I can justify that statement.   In other words, I can account for the REASON WHY science works.

I would ask you, "Why do you believe in science?", in other words, "How do you know, that the scientific method is valid?".   Here are the steps of the scientific method:
  1. ask a question
  2. research the context - in other words, has the question already been sufficiently answered
  3. form a hypothesis
  4. test the hypothesis
  5. refine the hypothesis
  6. retest and repeat
  7. draw a conclusion (your results will either prove or disprove your hypothesis)

In short, the scientific method uses a concept called "induction", to gain knowledge.   By way of explanation, "Induction" is looking backward, to make a prediction about the future.   But I would ask you, how do you know that the past has anything to do with the future?   I can account for "induction", because I know the One who "holds all things together by the word of His power".   That is God Himself.   But without God, you can make no such claim.

When you say, “I can predict the future, because it's always been that way in the past”, you’ve just committed a logical mistake.   That’s a logical fallacy called, “begging the question.”   You’re saying, “the future is like the past, because it’s always been that way in the past.”
