I had a very good time handing out gospel tracts. I successfully gave out several dozen tracts. “May I give you a gospel tract”, I offered one couple. To which the man responded “h*ll no”. The gal gave me a hard look and they walked away and got into line.
When there were only a few minutes before the doors were to be opened, I began open air preaching.
The doors were opened and the people began entering the arena. When the upset couple got to me, the gal said, with a stern face, “you know, you sound crazy”.
1 Corinthians 4:9-10 (NASB95) 9 For, I think, God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as men condemned to death; because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. 10 We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are prudent in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are distinguished, but we are without honor.
I’m not claiming to be an apostle, but I was a bit of a spectacle and I am a fool for Christ. It is out of place in our day and age to proclaim the gospel on the street in an open air setting.
God Bless…
