2 Corinthians 10:3-5 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
For the Christian, we're in a war, whether you've noticed or not, and whether you believe it or not. If you're a Christian, you have an enemy, whether you like it or not. Just as dangerous as any bad guy here on earth, we have enemies in the spiritual realm, who'd like to put us out-of-commission. The Bible says the devil is like a roaring lion prowling around seeking whom he may devour. And, just as serious and deadly as any weapon we might hold in our hands, are the weapons we possess in the spiritual realm. So, we may be in a war, but to the Christian, Jesus says, “fear not”, for greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world.
For the non-Christian, it's a whole different ball game. The non-Christian is in a war, he's just fighting the wrong enemy. He's made God his enemy. You ever watched one of the many reality cop shows on tv? You've probably seen seen a cop wrestling someone and having the person's arms twisted behind their back, and the cop commands, “stop resisting! “. That’s what the non-Christian needs to do, with God. I'm going to ask you to do something, if you haven't already, please surrender your life (the good and the bad) to the Savior. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. So it’ll take humility to admit your sin to God, but you must own up to it before Him. And, instead of trusting in anything you have, or you’re capable of, trust Jesus alone. Then he will forgive your sins. You'll pass from death to life; from darkness to light. You'll be what's called 'born again'.
Then, as it says in Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
And you’ll be at peace with God.
And you’ll be at peace with God.
